Recommendation
That Council approves the implementation of Traffic Order 1296 "Limited Time Parking Restriction" along Grenville Avenue and rescinds Traffic Order 565, as set out in Staff Report EPW-18-038.

BACKGROUND:
Grenville Avenue is a local road providing access to single family homes and businesses. The business properties are located around Esquimalt Road. As part of the upgrade to crosswalks along Esquimalt Road, the Grenville/Esquimalt intersection was upgraded to include pedestrian controlled lights as well as a crosswalk.
In order to make crossing Esquimalt Road easier for pedestrian traffic, the sidewalk was bumped out on southeast and northwest corners of this intersection. This change on the Grenville/Esquimalt corner requires the existing traffic order to be rescinded and a new traffic order to be issued. No changes are required on the Comerford/Esquimalt corner. ISSUES:
1. Rationale for Selected Option
Previous to the upgrade of the intersection, Traffic Order 565 created a 'no parking zone' along the northwest side of Grenville Avenue for approximately 16 metres. With the addition of a bump out, the 'no parking' traffic order is not required. The remainder of the street frontage along this section is approximately 7 metres.
This section of street would be converted to Limited Time Parking Zone from its current 'no restriction' status. The time frame would be for 30 minutes and would provide approximately two parking spaces for customers of the business...
