RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation
1. That Council approve the Statements of Significance that detail the heritage values of the designated building at 1379 Esquimalt Road (St. Peter and St. Paul's Church) [PID 024-848-905; Lot A(DD EP75276), Suburban Lot 27, Esquimalt District, Plan 5092] as presented in Appendix 'A' of Staff Report DEV-18-028.

Appendix B: Heritage Designation Bylaw (1379 Esquimalt Road) Bylaw, 1999, No. 2377

The church building on the subject property was protected by a heritage designation bylaw in 1999, with exemptions provided for interior renovations and maintenance of the exterior. In the past when properties were designated there were no provincial requirements for the completion of a Statement of Significance [SOS]. The province now asks that an SOS be prepared for properties included on a community heritage register, including those designated by bylaw.
