Recommendation
That Council:
1) rescind third reading of Bylaw No. 3080; and
2) give third reading as amended to Parks and Recreation Regulation Bylaw, 2007, No. 2665, Amendment Bylaw, 2022, No. 3080.

BACKGROUND:

At the regular meeting of Council held July 11, 2022, Council approved the proposed changes to the parks and recreation fees and charges to become effective January 1, 2023. At that meeting, Council also gave first three readings to Parks and Recreation Regulation Bylaw, 2007, No. 2665, Amendment Bylaw, 2022, No. 3080.

An administrative error has since been identified in Schedule C of the amendment bylaw that requires correction prior to adoption. The error occurred because the rental of the Archie Board Room was listed under the incorrect rental category. It was originally listed under "small room" instead of "medium room" (page 10 of Bylaw No. 3080). To correct this error, Council is requested to rescind third reading of Bylaw No. 3080 and then give third reading as amended with the revised Schedule C reflecting the actual rental cost of the Archie Board Room.


ISSUES:

1. Rationale for Selected Option
Council previously approved the changes to the parks and recreation fess and charges effective January 1, 2023 and this action will correct an administrative error contained in the draft bylaw provided to Council that received first three readings on July 11, 2022.

2. Financial Implications
If Council opts not to correct the error in Schedule C of Bylaw No. 3080, there will be minor losses in rental fees for the Archie ...
