ESSENTIAL QUESTION:

 

A presentation by the architects and consultants involved in the design of the Public Safety Building (PSB) will provide Council with an update on progress and provide an opportunity for input on design elements of the building.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

Recommendation

That the Committee of the Whole view the presentations and provide any comments or input on the proposed designs.

BACKGROUND:

 

The Township has been engaged in a lengthy process to plan and design a new PSB.  During previous presentations to Council on design and appearance of the proposed building, Council expressed an interest in seeing the next stage of the design and finishing materials for the exterior design and signage and wayfinding designs.

 

 

ISSUES:

 

The designs presented to Council are at 75% completion phase.

 

The overall budget for all aspects related to the PSB is $42 million.  A more detailed budget is available for Council’s information on the secure site.

1.                     That the COTW receive Staff Report No. CSS-21-016 for information, provide any additional direction to staff as the COTW considers advisable, and direct staff to prepare a report for Council’s consideration.

 

2.                     That the COTW provide alternative direction to staff.

 

3.                     That the COTW request further information from staff.
