Hutchinson Avenue "Residential Parking Only" Petition End


That Council approves the implementation of Traffic Order 1309 "Residential Parking Only" along Hutchinson Avenue, as set out in Staff Report EPW-19-027.

Hutchinson Avenue is designated as a local road, but is also one of two roads that provide access from Colville Road into the Rockheights neighbourhood. The streetscape is one of single-family homes. The length of road under consideration is 20 metres long and runs between Colville Road and the E&N Rail Trail. Currently, there is a No Parking restriction on the west side of this road segment at the intersection of Hutchinson Avenue and Colville Road.

The Township has received a request from residents for the implementation of 'Residential Parking Only' along the east side of the road segment. Their concern is that vehicles from the multi-family housing units and park area, located to the north, may use the parking on the north end of Hutchinson Avenue. 1. Rationale for Selected Option

In accordance with Council Policy E&PW-03 Township Guide to Parking Restrictions (Guide), the lead resident undertook the canvassing of the residents on the street.

The results of the survey are:
* Number of properties canvassed: 2 of 2
* Test 1 - 90% of properties canvassed
* Number of property owners who signed the petition: 2 of 2
* Test 2 - 80% of properties signed the petition
