SUBJECT:                      Resolution to Hold a Council Meeting Outside the Boundaries of Esquimalt

 

INFORMATION:

 

Esquimalt Council wishes to hold a Special Meeting of Council on January 13, 2026, outside of the boundaries of the municipality at the Union Club located at 805 Gordon Street, Victoria, BC, V8W 1Z6. To comply with the provisions of section 134.1 of the Community Charter and section 8.0 of the Council Procedure Bylaw, 2022, No. 3081, an authorizing Council resolution is required.

 

Notice of the special meeting was given in accordance with both the Community Charter and the Township’s Council Procedure Bylaw. The first item of business will be to close the meeting to the general public pursuant to sections 90(1)(a), (c), and 2(b)(ii) of the Community Charter.

 

The requested resolution is procedurally required to allow the meeting to take place as planned.

Recommendation

That Council authorize that a special meeting of Esquimalt Council be held at the Union Club located at 805 Gordon St, Victoria, BC on January 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
