Recommendation
That Council provide any comments to staff to be forwarded to the Passenger Transportation Board relating to the Taxi Application by Orange Taxi.

BACKGROUND:

Attached is a Municipal Notice of a Taxi Application from the Passenger Transportation Board. The Board is requesting comments within 30 days of receipt of the Notice (i.e. by December 26th, 2015), in order to be able to consider the Township's comments prior to making a decision on the application from William Horsfield, carrying on business as Orange Taxi.

ISSUES:

1. Rationale for Selected Option
The applicant is requesting approval to provide a new taxi service with a fleet size requested of one conventional taxi and one accessible taxi. The details are set out in the Notice attached. The conventional taxi service will be restricted to passengers originating from the Sooke and East Sooke area, while the Special Needs/Accessible taxi service will be available for passengers originating from anywhere in the Greater Victoria area.
