TOWNSHIP OF ESQUIMALT MEMORANDUM

MEETING DATE:  April 13, 2026                     Report No. FIN-26-007

TO:                       Council

FROM:                      Ian Irvine, Director of Financial Services

SUBJECT:                      Repeal Craigflower Road (Gorge Vale Golf Club) Local Area Service Bylaw

INFORMATION:

In 2009, Council adopted a bylaw that established the local area service to construct a concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter fronting the Gorge Vale Golf Club. The cost of this service was established and was recovered by the Township through a parcel tax that was applied annually over a 15-year term. The last payment in accordance with the bylaw was received during the 2025 fiscal year and no amounts remain outstanding.

As a result, staff are recommending that Council repeal Bylaw No. 2698 as the conditions have been fully satisfied.

Should Council wish to repeal Craigflower Road (Gorge Vale Golf Club) Local Area Service Bylaw, 2008, No. 2698 as recommended, it must be done through a repeal bylaw. If Council gives three readings to Repeal Bylaw No. 3182, it will come back to Council for adoption on April 27, 2026

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

That Council give three readings to Bylaw to Repeal Bylaw No. 2698, 2026, No. 3182
