RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
That Council:
1. approve the Draft 2015 Strategic Plan in principle, as attached to Staff Report ADM-15-008;
2. direct staff to provide a copy of the Draft Strategic Plan to the Advisory Committees and post a copy of the Township's website requesting input and comments; and
3. direct staff to prepare a report to Council in March for consideration of approval of the Strategic Plan, such report to include input received from Committees and the public.

BACKGROUND:
On January 22 and 23, 2015, Council held a strategic planning workshop. The attached Draft Strategic Plan was prepared by the facilitator, Tracey Lee Lorenson, and summarizes the outcome of the workshop.
Once approved, staff will use the strategic priorities identified by Council to guide staff operational strategies and work programs, depending upon resources allocated to these initiatives during the upcoming budget discussions. Staff will also report back to Council regularly on the status of the various initiatives through Staff Period Reports.
ISSUES:
1. Rationale for Selected Option
The attached draft Strategic Plan summarizes the priorities that Council identified during its recent strategic planning workshop.
2. Organizational Implications
Staff will use the approved Strategic Plan in preparing departmental operational strategies and budget requests.
