BACKGROUND:

 

The Officers Bylaw, 2011, No. 2777 establishes the Officer positions and the powers, duties, responsibilities, and terms of employment of such Officers (Attachment 2).

 

In April 2023 an organizational restructuring occurred that split Corporate Services and Human Resources into separate departments. The new titles for the applicable directors are Director of Corporate Services and Director of Human Resources and Community Relations. An amendment to the Officers Bylaw is required to reflect these changes. The proposed amendments are contained in Amendment Bylaw No. 3111 (Attachment 1).

The proposed amendment aligns with the direction given by the Chief Administrative Officer.
