Recommendation
That Council approve Traffic Order 1261 that "Stop" sign and road markings be installed on Garthland Road (north) at the intersection of Garthland Road and Rhoda Lane.

BACKGROUND:
In early 2016, the Township received a Traffic Control Review report (EPW-16-001). This report was sponsored by ICBC and the Township with the work being completed by a professional engineer/traffic engineer with an external consultant. The objective of the Project was to undertake a comprehensive review of traffic signs and road markings within the Township of Esquimalt.
The location in question is the intersection of Rhoda Lane and Garthland Road. This is a "T" intersection with no traffic controls on Rhoda Lane and Garthland Road. It was identified to have a medium priority for action in the ICBC report. The recommendation is that a stop sign and road markings be installed on Garthland Road (north). ISSUES:
1. Rationale for Selected Option
The "T" intersection of Rhoda Lane and Garthland Road is currently uncontrolled. Due to this fact, drivers are lead to assume that each leg has the right of way.
