TOWNSHIP OF ESQUIMALT MEMORANDUM

MEETING DATE:  October 6, 2025                     Report No. ADM-25-051

TO:                                            Council

FROM:                                           Sarah Holloway, Manager of Corporate Services/Deputy Corporate Officer

SUBJECT:                      Freedom of Information Bylaw, 2025, No. 3177

INFORMATION:

As the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act has undergone revisions from time to time since the adoption of the Township’s Freedom of Information Bylaw, 2012, No. 2795, staff have reviewed the bylaw and concluded that it does not meet the requirements and fees as set out in the Act currently.

To ensure compliance, staff are recommending that Council give three readings to Freedom of Information Bylaw, 2025, No. 3177 which will repeal Freedom of Information Bylaw, 2012, No. 2795 in its entirety and replace it with proposed Freedom of Information Bylaw, 2025, No. 3177.

RECOMMENDATION:
