BACKGROUND:

 

Under the provisions of the Regulation, the Township is required to prepare a Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) within six months of its fiscal year end. This Statement must be made available to any individual who makes a request to examine the document.

 

ISSUES: 

 

1.  Rationale for Selected Option

 

The Regulation specifies the form and content of the Statement and requires that the SOFI be approved by both Council and the officer assigned responsibility for financial administration under local government legislation. Each year, the Township is required to submit the approved SOFI and the approved Audited Financial Statements to the Provincial Government in advance of the July 4 deadline.

5.  Communication & Engagement 

 

The draft version of the 2015 Statement of Financial Information was made available for viewing by the public starting on May 10, 2016.  Once approved, the entire package, including the approved 2015 Audited Financial Statements, will be available at the Municipal Hall. Additionally, the 2015 Statement of Financial Information will be added to the Township's website for those wishing to access it electronically.
